Mine Permitting
In 2018 Solidus Resources entered into the preliminary permitting process with the Bureau of Land Management, Winnemucca District Office (BLM) and Nevada Division of Environmental Resources, Bureau of Mining Regulation and Reclamation (NDEP) for the Spring Valley Mine. Major permits required for operations of the project include a Mine Plan of Operations, Reclamation Permit, Rights of Way, Water Pollution Control Permit and Air Quality Operating Permits. The project will also have to be analyzed in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) through an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
Baseline data was collected for the project area from 2019 through 2020. As of 2024, all data has been compiled in reports which have been reviewed and approved by the BLM and NDEP.
A Mine Plan of Operations and Application for Reclamation Permit and associated Rights of Way were submitted to the BLM and NDEP in February 2023. The document was deemed complete by the BLM in August, 2023, at which time the agency determined that the project would be analyzed under an EIS.
The NEPA process commenced with publication in the Federal Register in March 2024. Public scoping of the project was completed in May 2024. A draft EIS will be prepared and is expected to be published later in 2024.
